Privacy policy

Prepare 11 Plus is run by HAGS Consultancy Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: hello@prepare11plus.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash by our login provider).
  • Your children: a first name or nickname and, if you choose, a school year group. Nothing else is needed, and we ask you not to enter surnames.
  • Practice results: scores, answers and dates for papers and topics, so you can see progress.
  • Creative writing: any writing your child types or photographs for marking, and the feedback produced.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers; we keep only your subscription status and dates.

If you use the site without an account, results are kept only in your own browser and never reach us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To provide the service you signed up for, including progress tracking and marking: performance of a contract.
  • To take payment and keep financial records: contract and legal obligation.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent misuse: legitimate interests.
  • To email you about your account. We send marketing only if you ask for it, and you can stop it at any time.

Children

Accounts are for parents and carers aged 18 or over. You create and control your children’s profiles, and you can edit or delete them at any time from your account page. We do not profile children, show them advertising or sell anyone’s data.

Writing marked by AI

When you ask for creative writing to be marked, the text or photo is sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model that writes the feedback. Anthropic processes it on our behalf to produce the feedback and does not use it to train its models. Please don’t include surnames, addresses or other identifying details in a piece of writing.

Who we share data with

Only the companies that run parts of the service for us, under contracts that protect your data:

  • Supabase (accounts and database)
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Vercel (website hosting)
  • Anthropic (writing feedback)

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or the UK’s approved data transfer agreements.

How long we keep it

  • Account, children and results: while your account is open. Email us to close it and we delete them within 30 days.
  • Payment records: 6 years, as UK tax law requires.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the browser storage needed to save a paper part-way through. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@prepare11plus.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
